Parsons Challenge

|
I'm applying to Parsons so I have to complete the challenge.  They tell you to explore something in your community and do three projects having to do with one aspect.  I decided to focus on how nature eventually fades into something manmade and how everything beautiful is disappearing to industrialism.
Here is the video I'm in the process of making:

Seinfeld

|
Last night, I was watching an episode of Seinfeld, when I noticed that Kramer was wearing a banana print shirt.  It reminded me of the "aloha" shirt from Prada Spring 11 line that has been seen on the likes of Bryanboy and many other bloggers.  As I was then searching for a picture, I came across a vintage Dolce & Gabbana banana shirt as well.  It's so interesting to me that clothing can be inspired by a piece of fruit.

Marc Jacobs is an absolute genius.  The white carousel horses, the intricate collar work, the underlying details beneath chiffon, and even the metallic silver shoes with the color-blocked straps and heels. Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite designers for a large fashion house, he knows exactly what he is doing and what he wants.  He likes classic pieces and it shows through his use of collars, big buttons, coats, and A-line skirts.  He is one of the most influential designers of the time and I am in love with this collection.  I want just about every piece in this line.

Marchesa RTW Spring 2012

|

WWD is one of the few websites that I look at every single day. It is so up to date and provides the most important information about everything related to fashion.  As I've been keeping up with NYFW from Los Angeles, I came across Marchesa's newest line.  Marchesa is quite possibly my favorite couture line and they never fail to
leave me in awe.  They have clients who range from Hailee Steinfeld to Diane Kruger to Jessica Alba. The two sisters create gowns that range from simple yet still insanely complex to so detailed you can't even believe your eyes.  Here are perhaps some of my favorite looks from the entire collection:

Sketchbook

Because I am in AP Studio Art, I have been doodling in my sketchbook quite a bit lately.  I've gotten a good amount of ideas of projects that I would like to do for the class and I am really excited to begin.

Hello!

|
I just have a few things to say:
1. My last name is not actually Tailfin.
2. It's really Dauphin, Tailfin is just a play off of it.
& 3. I love tacos.
